Ability Leveling was a feature added to game in the New Universe Update 3.0, and made it so that moves for abilities had to be unlocked through leveling up the ability by receiving Exp, along with Ascensions. To get Exp you have to complete quests, kill NPCs and/or defeat Bosses. Alternatively, shard trading via the black market dealer can add Exp to the stand/spec currently equipped.
The max level an ability can reach is Level 200, and when an ability reaches the Level cap, the player can choose to Ascend it for 1 million uC, resetting it's level back to 0 with a 0.025% increase of Exp gained up to maximum of 3x. You cannot trade over the levels that are in the current ability, as the progress of every player is seperate to other players, just like Traits and Ascension levels.

Stats were introduced along with Ability Leveling, and are used to boost a certain part of the ability the player is currently using. For every 1 level, the stand/spec receives 1 point to put in one of 4 following stats:
- Attack: Increases the damage output for all sources coming from you. The damage increase scales much higher against NPCs than against players. Each point adds a 4.58759% increase.
- Defense: Reduces damage taken up to 50%. Each point adds 0.5% to the reduction.
- Health: Increases the max amount of health the user has while using the stand/spec. Each point put in Health is an extra 5 HP.
- Special: Increases HT gain, directly increases the amount of health restored from healing abilities, makes special abilities (timestop, awakenings, etc.) last up to 25% longer, or gain increased range (Exclusive for Ope Ope's Room). Each point put in Special decreases the abilities cooldowns by 0.5%.
